WHAT IS ONYX?
OUR PHILOSOPHY
We opened our family business as a café and bar in Kistelek in 2015 because we wanted a place in the city that would be an ideal and cosy venue for family events, meetings with friends, work meetings or even a date. We found that in addition to drinks, there was a demand for delicious food, so we dreamed big: we added a restaurant to ONYX. Our aim was to diversify the gastronomic offer in Kistelek and to make it easier for people who want to eat quality street food in a modern, cosy restaurant to travel from the city and the region. We have also been persevering ever since: we focus on quality and presentation; we are constantly developing and innovating, because we want our guests to have not only food but also an experience.
RESTAURANT
Our restaurant has become so successful that in 2022 we reached another milestone: ONYX was transformed into a restaurant with a huge terrace and interior space, where we also organise and host events – whether family or corporate. We cater for traditional food lovers as well as the experimental and innovative – with American, Italian and Indian specialities on offer, there is something for every member of the family or group of friends.
RAW METARIALS
We only use quality, premium ingredients: our Italian dishes – including our stone-baked pizzas, made from the original Neapolitan recipe – are served with premium Italian ham and tomato sauce. For our Indian dishes, we use quality Indian spices and basmati rice, while our salads are enriched with fresh produce from Saliverzum. Moreover, our toppings and starters include premium meat products from Mangalard. We make our dishes even more exciting with special homemade sauces.
DRINKS
Our commitment to quality is also reflected in our range of drinks. Our coffees are made with barista machines and great expertise, using the latest roasting techniques and fresh AVX coffee. Moreover, our speciality coffees, fibrous teas and house-made lemonades in a variety of flavours are guaranteed to brighten up even the dullest weekdays.
Our Vinatus wines, aged in oak barrels from Mecsek and Zemplén, will transport you to the Villány hills in a flash, but you can also try premium French wines (e.g. Marrenon, Antech) and sparkling wines (e.g. SAUSKA Rosé Brut, MAISON LOUIS DE GRENELLE Budapest Spark Brut, CHAMPAGNE BILLECART-SALMON – BRUT RÉSERVE ). Beer lovers are also catered for with our two-strong draught beer selection, but we also have vibrant, colourful cocktails on offer – whether you are looking for classics or something a little different. While the Venezuelan Diplomatico represents quality rum on our shelves, our gins include the homegrown artisanal Japanese crafted ETSU.
